I see the role of a physician is to not only discover and understand what health issues are going on for you, but also to help you to understand what is going on and what you can do about it – then help you to be as successful as possible.

Many years ago I was traveling in the Bolivian Amazon jungle. Our guide constantly showed us beautiful and fascinating things all around us. He caught alligators, cobras and pythons for us to see, and taught us the interactions between different animals (if the pink and blue river dolphins are nearby, the alligators will not enter the water).  He also taught us about medical uses of plants and trees that we would pass by. I see my role in a similar way. The medical system is often confusing and may be dangerous if you make unwise steps. As your doctor I am not in charge of your medical care – you are. I am here to stay by your side, guiding you. Helping you see the beauty around and within you and helping you avoid the pitfalls that you didn’t realize were there, and to help you be as healthy as you can possibly be. Because as your know, sometimes it can be a jungle out there…
